Hello Everyone:

I am Michelle and English is my mother tongue; I use and understand both American and British English. I also understand high German (Level B1). I am from the USA, and have been living in Switzerland since 2008. I have a business background, and several years work experience in the financial services sector. I am from a large and diverse family (19 nieces/nephews, 5 siblings), and can adapt to most situations. I enjoy tennis, athletics, salsa, traveling (28 countries so far), and volunteering (especially with children). I am friendly, approachable, and creative.

English: I have taught children, teens, and adults. Some examples include:-

1. Robert Gordon University requires that non-native English-speaking students meet the English standards before they are fully accepted. I tutored Asian students during the summer program to help them pass the university’s entrance exam.

2. Platform Networking for Jobs is a Swiss organization that prepares individuals for the job market. I helped Master and PhD university students improve their spoken English (tense, pronunciation, and grammar), and prepare for job interviews.

3. Junior Achievement is a global organization that teaches students about the market place. I taught business and economics to elementary, middle, and high school students in the USA. This was my most rewarding experience. The children were hungry for knowledge, and they became more confident with each lesson.
