Brianna Kolitzus

Certified private Science & Math teacher from the USA based in Zürich. Specializing in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, & Maths, I support students build confidence with English-medium science and maths, especially those attending German–English bilingual schools who prefer to discuss complex topics in English even when lessons are taught in German. I also help multilingual students whose native language isn’t English.

With 20 years of experience, I’ve coached students from international and local schools through IB, AP, A-Level, IGCSE, and Swiss Matura courses. My approach combines explanations using everyday language and exam-specific strategies.

Students describe my lessons as engaging and productive. We connect concepts across subjects, understand what examiners are looking for, and express scientific reasoning effectively in English.

I’m familiar with IB Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, English IOs, the ToK Essay, Visual Arts CS, AP Seminar IRR and Research Paper, Presentation and Oral Defense, and the Maturaarbeit. I offer detailed, practical feedback to help students improve structure, precision, and academic style. I also provide coaching for time management, study strategies, and research organization.

I’ve traveled to over 40 countries, visiting places such as CERN and Chernobyl to bring real-world science stories into my sessions. I currently teach both online and in person in the greater Zürich area.
